The original A Team came together 4 years ago, when family and friends joined from St. James Parish to raise money and educate others about Multiple Sclerosis. Our family has been affected by this life changing disease, along with many other families in our community. We felt it was time for us to step up and join the movement towards a cure.
In the beginning, the A Team raised money by selling home-made plate lunches and sweets. We also had a lot of help which came from enormous amount of donations. From all this hard work and success, the A Team has been one of the top fundraising team in south Louisiana. To date we have raised approximately Forty thousand dollars.
We are very blessed that our support team is expanding to our surrounding parishes. We have officially become a non-profit organization named The River Parish A Team. We welcome anyone whose family has been affected or not by this horrible disease to join us in this worthy cause.
Our 2013 fundraising year will include a dinner sale, bake sales, raffle tickets and after much success we will be having our 2nd Bass tournament “Going fishing for a Cure”. Please come out and support our cause; you can make a real difference.
